George Carey announces his first limited edition print since 1998, "Casa de Hemingway." This striking print is now available on a first come first serve basis.
A delightful, realistic image of Ernest Heningway's famous Key West estate, the painting bursts with tropical spendor. Using acrylic paints and his creative eye for composition, George has created a scene this is lush and welcoming. Leafy tropical plants and palm trees surround the Spanish style casa, lit by island sunlight and ready to greet guests to this tropical paradise.
The house is now a well-known tourist destication and beautiful museum property, that recall the handsome retreat where Hemingway penned many of his most famous novels and became a part of Key West lore forever. A private collector commissioned the original 36 x 48 inch painting of this Key West landmark and it is now being offered by George as a limited edition print.
"Ernest Hemingway's house is where I first studied art, at age 11, with the renowned artist Gerald Leake," Carey explains. Leake was a favorite artist of President Harry S. Truman, and conducted art classes at the former home of Ernest "Papa" Heningway and his second wife, Pauline.
A fourth generation Key West native now living in Ohio, George Carey enjoys an international following. Painting detailed images of Key West and the surrounding area, Carey inspires the viewer with the beauty of the islands.
